"Pursue Hernia Treatment for Perfection”-Biosis Healing Yunnan Station Activity successfully held

On May 22, "Yunnan Branch Kunming Yan’an Hospital of Chinese Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery Online Education Institute HD Laparoscopy Training Course & Biosis Healing Biomaterials Clinical Application Advanced Training Course" was successfully held in Kunming Yan’an Hospital, which was hosted by Kunming Yan’an Hospital, Kunming Medical Association Hernia and Abdominal Surgery Specialist Branch, and co-hosted by Beijing Biosis Healing Biological Technology Co., Ltd.. The conference adopted the national webcast on the online platform. General surgery team of Director Zhao Weishan and Professor Li Peng from Kunming Yan’an Hospital of were invited. The conference, through live surgical demonstrations, surgical explanations, and interactive Q&A, was in order to standardize surgical procedures, popularize the application of biological materials in the field of hernia surgery, provide opportunities for learning and communication for the majority of hernia surgeons.

At the beginning of the conference, Professor Chen Jie, the dean of Chinese Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery Online Education College, and the chief physician of Hernia and Abdominal Surgery at Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Capital Medical University, delivered an opening speech. Professor Chen Jie expressed his gratitude to the general surgery team of Professor Zhao Weishan and Professor Li Peng from Kunming Yan'an Hospital, and recognized the team's outstanding performance in hernia and abdominal wall surgery in Yunnan Province and its leading role in online teaching in the field of hernia and abdominal wall surgery across the country. During the nearly 10 hours of live broadcast, they performed 10 brilliant surgeries, covering TAPP, TEP, laparoscopic transabdominal hiatus Hernia Repair, Lichtenstein, gastric volume reduction surgery and other types of surgery, and more than 33,000 hernia surgeons watched the live broadcast online.

 Among the 10 surgeries, 8 surgeries were implanted with Biosis Healing's SIS biological mesh. Professor Li Peng introduced during the operation: Biosis Healing's SIS biological mesh, which uses a decellularization process to remove immunogenicity. The mesh can serve as a "stent" function at the defect tissue, and it can be completely degraded and absorbed within six months. Professor Li Peng believes that SIS biomaterial is a better choice than synthetic materials, and is suitable for young adults with fertility needs and patients with large tissue defects. With tissue regeneration, the material is completely degraded in the body and will not affect male fertility.
