Sino-US Dental Professionals Convene Online via Vidasis for In-Depth Exchange

by Biosis Healing

Since February 2024, when Vidasis® Oral Matrix received FDA 510(k) clearance in the United States, it has garnered increasing attention from international dental practitioners. While the product has completed its initial market promotion phase in China and earned high trust from the majority of domestic dental clinicians, it remains relatively novel in global markets, where practitioners exhibit both strong interest and numerous questions about the product.

To address these inquiries and enhance international understanding of Vidasis® Oral Matrix, Biosis Healing recently via 668 Open Courses launched a series of trial experience sharing sessions targeting U.S. dental professionals. This program regularly features experienced Chinese dental clinicians demonstrating clinical applications and sharing practical insights about the product.

Leading Chinese dental experts engaged in professional exchanges with their American counterparts, sharing valuable clinical experiences and detailed surgical case studies. The discussions focused on clinical application techniques and product advantages of Vidasis® Oral Matrix. Conducting in-depth academic exchanges grounded in the distinct healthcare systems, patient demographics, and research priorities of China and the United States, experts from both nations shared advanced surgical techniques, clinical insights, and scientific directions to foster mutual progress.

At 9:00 AM on November 10, 2024 (9:00 PM Eastern Time on November 9), the inaugural session of the Vidasis® Oral Matrix Product Trial Sharing Course officially commenced. For this open course, we invited Director Liu Guolin and Dr. Dong Jingbo from Beijing Liangxiang Hospital as the first guest lecturers. The event garnered significant attention from dental professionals in both China and the United States, with nearly 100 oral medicine specialists from both countries participating online.

At the beginning, Dr. Dong Jingbo delivered a presentation about the research status of guided bone regeneration (GBR), demonstrated the advantages and disadvantages of different barrier membrane materials, explained the material characteristics and product strengths of SIS oral matrix, and presented multiple complete surgical cases covering preoperative examination, surgical planning, intraoperative procedures, and postoperative recovery effects, providing an in-depth analysis and sharing of Vidasis® Oral Matrix cases. Additionally, Dr. Dong Jingbo shared the research topic "Clinical Application Effects of SIS in Guided Bone Regeneration," which compared the clinical outcomes of SIS with competing materials in alveolar bone GBR through histological and radiological analyses, offering decision-making references for clinicians.

After the presentation, multiple American oral surgeons raised questions regarding their concerns, such as the stability of the product in dental implant surgeries, barrier duration, and effective fixation during procedures. Director Liu Guolin provided detailed responses based on his clinical experience, having performed over a thousand surgeries using Vidasis® Oral Matrix. He shared unique insights into the material characteristics, advantages, and clinical application techniques of the product. Through Director Liu's explanations, the American oral surgeons gained a deeper understanding of SIS membrane. During the discussion, some American surgeons shared trial experiences with the product and gave high praise to Vidasis® Oral Matrix. Multiple American oral surgeons requested product samples for clinical trials after the meeting.

The successful launch of the first Vidasis® Oral Matrix Open Courses has significantly bolstered our confidence. This exchange between Chinese and American oral surgeons transcended a mere knowledge-sharing session about Vidasis® Oral Matrix-- it marked the beginning of international academic collaboration among dental professionals.

Oral health is a vital component of overall human well-being, and the open-minded sharing of knowledge and experience between Chinese and American practitioners will accelerate the adoption of new technologies and products in dentistry, truly embodying the vision of "Healthcare Without Borders, Advancing Global Health Unity."

More Vidasis® Oral Matrix Open Courses will be rolled out soon--- stay tuned!

Vidasis® Oral Matrix

Vidasis® Oral Matrix is prepared from non-crosslinked porcine small intestinal submucosal extracellular matrix material (referred to as "SIS material") with proprietary intellectual property rights owned by Biosis Healing. SIS material demonstrates advantages including excellent biocompatibility, promotion of tissue regeneration and repair, acceleration of angiogenesis, and infection tolerance. Utilizing a non-crosslinking preparation process without chemical additives, the product can be completely degraded and absorbed along with tissue regeneration, leaving no foreign residues. It is widely used for repair and reconstruction of tissues such as tendons, dura mater (spinal meninges), abdominal walls, skin, and oral mucosa.

Vidasis® Oral Matrix can be used in combination with bone powder, suitable for providing a physical barrier during dental implant restoration for missing teeth in the oral cavity. The product exhibits excellent biocompatibility, completely degrades as tissue regenerates, without affecting new bone formation or quality. Its dual-layer structure features: A dense side with tightly arranged fibers prevents epithelial cells and connective tissues from growing into bone defect areas, maintaining an effective barrier for up to 8 weeks. A loose side with porous structure promotes cell adhesion, induces angiogenesis post-implantation, guides bone regeneration, and forms woven bone within 6 weeks in the defect area.

Vidasis® Oral Matrix demonstrates superior flexibility, conformability, and hydrophilicity for optimal adaptation to defect areas during surgery. Enriched with bioactive substances, it enhances cell adhesion and tissue regeneration. With excellent infection tolerance, it reduces postoperative infection risks, making it an ideal clinical solution for oral bone regeneration.
