The product experience conference of VIDASIS® SIS Staple Line Reinforcement concluded successfully

On November 30, 2024, Biosis Healing welcomed many important guests. Nearly 20 expert professors and young doctors from 12 hospitals in Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Hubei, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Henan, and Beijing, represented by Professor Li Gaofeng from Yunnan Cancer Hospital, visited Biosis Healing and embarked the "Clinical Application Training Project of SIS Material Series Products and VIDASIS^® SIS Staple Line Reinforcement Product Experience Conference". Zhao Bo, the founder of Biosis Healing, and Zhang Jinhui, the co-founder, accompanied and received the guests.

At the beginning of the conference, Zhang Jinhui, the co-founder of Biosis Healing, delivered a welcome speech. He said, "It is our great honor to invite Professor Li Gaofeng and all the experts to visit and give guidance. The VIDASIS^® SIS Staple Line Reinforcement is the first degradable biological anastomosis reinforcement and repair product made of SIS material in China, developed by Biosis Healing . Since its launch, it has attracted the attention and recognition of many clinicians. However, as it is an innovative product and there is no mature experience for reference, it’s still a long way to go for the popularization of this innovative product. Next, Professor Li Gaofeng from Yunnan Cancer Hospital spoke as the representative of the experts. In his speech, Professor Li Gaofeng mentioned, "Clinical doctors, as soldiers fighting on the front line, need good weapons to exert their maximum combat effectiveness. Taking Yunnan as an example, there are relatively more lung cancer patients in Yunnan, and most of them are elderly patients. The poor lung quality of elderly patients significantly limits the postoperative effect. However, with the support of the VIDASIS^® SIS Staple Line Reinforcement, the surgical effect is further guaranteed, the occurrence of postoperative pulmonary air leakage is reduced, and tangible benefits are brought to patients. We sincerely hope that through deeper exchanges and interactions between the clinic and enterprises, we can promote enterprises to accelerate the transformation process of more high-quality products, work hand in hand to jointly promote the continuous progress of the surgical field in China, and jointly create a more brilliant future for clinical surgery."

Subsequently, Cao Yang, the senior product manager of the Marketing Department of Biosis Healing, gave a detailed introduction to company and the VIDASIS^® SIS Staple Line Reinforcement. All the experts present had a heated discussion on the SIS Staple Line Reinforcement after listening to the product introduction, and conducted a simulated operation of the product in surgery on the spot.

Then, the expert delegation visited the enterprise exhibition hall, production workshop, and R&D laboratory of Biosis Healing, and gained a deeper understanding of the enterprise's development history, product production process, and R&D strength.

Finally, the expert team came to the Biosis Healing Excellence Surgical Training Base and truly simulated the whole process of surgery on experimental pigs to experience the usage effect of the VIDASIS^® SIS Staple Line Reinforcement.

During the surgical operation stage, the expert team was divided into 4 groups, and they respectively carried out surgical procedures such as laparoscopic wedge resection of the lung, lobectomy of the lung, and distal gastrectomy (Billroth II), and also conducted comparative operations with and without patches to actually verify the real application effect of the VIDASIS^® SIS Staple Line Reinforcement during the operation.

In the product discussion stage after the operation, the attending experts unanimously stated that the SIS Staple Line Reinforcement performed excellently during the operation, with clean and tidy incisions. The comparison between with and without patches was obvious. No bleeding at the incision after using the patch, which was of great help to the safety of the operation.

After the experience conference, the Biosis Healing Excellence Surgical Training Base prepared exclusive training completion certificates for the experts as souvenirs. This activity was declared as a national continuing medical education project by the Medical Animal Experiment Expert Committee of the Chinese Research Hospital Association. The participating experts all obtained continuing education credits, achieving a dual harvest of academic improvement and practical experience.
